The Large (main) Hall

With its charming exterior and welcoming atmosphere, this cherished space has served as a hub for residents of all ages and backgrounds. Inside, the hall boasts a spacious main hall that has witnessed countless gatherings, from lively dances and birthday celebrations to engaging workshops and local group meetings. Its versatile design with optional removable stage allows for seamless transformations, accommodating everything from theatrical productions to art exhibitions.

The main hall (18.5m x 9.7m – approx 60′ x 30′) will accommodate 120 people seated for a meal or 360 people dancing. The large picture windows and glazed double doors provide splendid views across un-spoilt Somerset countryside to the west, giving the hall its light and airy atmosphere. wo double doors open out onto a patio area which is frequently used during the summer months.

There is a large serving area to the kitchen and double doors to the Committee room, which can be used as a bar or buffet area.

There an optional modular stage at the far end for your disco or presentation. The stage measures approximately 4m wide by 3m deep and 300mm high (approx 12′ wide x 9′ deep x1′ high). This will need to be organised in advance.

The large hall is heated by warm air, which is both quiet and very quick. On a cold day the hall is heated to a comfortable temperature in around 30 minutes. 

The Committee Room

This smaller room can be used as a meeting room for a small group of people, there is a a projector and plenty of chairs for you to use.
The Committee Room (approx. 21ft x 14ft, 6.6m x 4.5m) has double doors to the large hall and a door to the adjacent  kitchen. The room is suitable for meeting of around 20 people, and is fitted with a bar. It is also frequently used as a buffet area.

The Kitchen

The Kitchen (approx. 14ft x 13ft, 4.5m x 4m) has catered for the entire village during the famous “Big Breakfast” so the facilities can be up for almost any event.
The kitchen can be used to provide coffee and teas to your guests or allow water bottles to be filled. It has a large serving hatch to the main hall. The 5 burner gas range, large double sink unit and boiling water dispenser make it suitable for serving coffees and light snacks during a meeting or for your caterers for a large event. A fridge and a freezer are available together with a commercial dishwasher.

The Foyer

The Foyer is the first entry point to the hall, and an ideal place to meet your guests!

Doors lead straight into the main hall, the committee room, the Disabled, Ladies and Gents WCs, and the store cupboard for cleaning materials.

The MUGA – Multi Use Games Area

The MUGA can be booked either for one-off use, or by teams wishing to use the facility on a regular basis. The hire rate will depend upon whether floodlighting is required.

Village residents are free to use this facility during daylight hours however they must leave the court immediately if it has already been booked.

The Patio

The Patio Area (19m x 5m) is on the west side of the hall and is accessed from the main hall by two double doors. Two flood lights are provided, so you can take advantage of the area even when the sun goes down.
There is a grassed area beyond the patio which is ideal for children to play.  

The Trim Trail And Outdoor Gym

The Trim Trail and Outdoor Gym is free for use by all residents. It provides a good walking track of 400m (1/4 mile) and incorporates the Outdoor Gym. The equipment is intended for use by youths and adults only over 1.4m in height.

Please note this equipment is not suitable for children.

The Outdoor Gym includes: Vault bars – Chin Up bars – Parallel bars – Step Up bars – Sit up bars – Horizontal ladder

Other Details

TABLES

The store room, just of the main hall, houses three trolleys of folding tables as follows:
24 tables measuring 1.82m x 0.68m (as shown opposite)
5 tables measuring 0.92m x 0.68m
6 tables measuring 1.22m x 0.61m (low height)

The hall also has around 20 older tables with fixed legs, however if you plan to use these you would need to notify us in advance.

CHAIRS

The store room also houses around 120 stacking chairs, as shown below. There is a chair trolley for moving the chairs in and out of the store room.

CUTLERY and CROCKERY

The kitchen has around 120 place settings comprising, dinner plate, side plate, bowl, cup and saucer. For special functions most caterers provide their own.

HEATING

The main hall is heated by warm air which is both quiet and quick. On a cold day the hall is heated to a comfortable temperature in around 30 minutes. The other rooms in the hall are heated by conventional radiators.

WiFi INTERNET

The hall has an Internet connection. Connect to BT_GUEST_WI-FI in your available networks.

INSURANCE

The hall holds Public Liability insurance which covers you against fault on our part. It is wise to have your own insurance in the event of claims against you.

CLEANING UP

We endeavour to ensure that the hall is clean and tidy for your event. Please ensure that you leave the hall as you would expect to find it. Cleaning items can be found in the cupboard to the right of the main entrance.

RUBBISH

All rubbish must be removed at the end of the event.
